Letter from Tyler: Summoning the Courage to Share

Often when I have a burst of creative inspiration, it is followed by doubtful thoughts, "Will I be judged?".

Often when I am motivated to share what's in my heart, it is followed with concerned thoughts, "Will they appreciate what I have to say?".

Often when I stand up to be seen, I hear the fearful thoughts, "Is what they see good enough?"

So should I sit down, shut up, and not share? Are these thoughts and feelings so powerful that they dictate my moves? Absolutely not! Instead I summon the courage to do it anyway. I have learned that the wonderful magic of life happens when I do. Yes there is risk and vulnerability, but that's the fun of spontaneous living and intimacy. I would rather live this way with an open heart than living confined to the prison of doubt, fear, and in-action.

I use my yoga practice to  strengthen this conviction, to strengthen the muscles of courage, to strengthen my connection to my heart and my voice. I encourage you to do the same. Identify where you hold back and why, and then use your yoga practice, all that hard work on your mat, specifically tohelp you take a stand in your life, and share the unique beautiful truth that is in your heart.

We truly are building a community that supports and encourages everyone to live a fully self expressed life full of connection, empowerment, and Love.

With Love,

Mother Teresa's
Anyway Poem

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;

Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.
