Just the simple act of reading or watching the news can be traumatic these days. Things have been a bit crazy, and the holidays are approaching as well With all of this energy, our yoga practice and this community are more important than ever.
What I love about the Yoga Shala: You can come as you are. No need to be perfect, or have it all together, it doesn’t matter if you had the best day ever or the worst. It is all love, and all here for your highest healing.
And the Yoga works too.
The Yoga gives us a chance to unravel the layers of ourselves and to get us to our truth, our core, our hearts. This is important because when we are really in our truth and our hearts…… the illusions fall away. They don’t carry any weight; we have the ability to see them as stories and not as the truth.
If you knew me, you would know that I am a passionate foodie. I lead our Wellness Warrior program that is all about healthy eating and self-care that we do a few times a year at the Yoga Shala Arden. I mention this because for me the food is a component of the Yoga, as is being a good person, and being of service in the world. If I don’t feed myself nourishing food, I am not my best, I am not even myself. It’s amazing how much better we can feel after yoga or after a good meal, especially if you consider the alternative (not getting to yoga and eating junky food) There is a big difference energetically and also in our mood, how we treat others, etc. And eating nourishing food does not mean it has to taste like cardboard. My favorite thing to do (especially over the holidays) is to feed people food that tastes so good they don’t even realize they are eating something healthy. That is why I want to share with you my new recipe book which has my favorite Thanksgiving recipe: Chocolate Avocado Mousse Pie….. it’s just delightful, satisfying, and tasting it you would never know that it is filled with nourishing, health supporting ingredients. You literally can feel better after eating dessert, say whaaaaat?!?
