Your solar plexus chakra the energy center that encompasses your personal power and will. It is a large energy center, for it is located in the area between your navel, all the way up to the base of your sternum. It’s called Manipura in Sanskrit, which translates to ‘lustrous gem’. When Manipura is activated, our whole system becomes fully energized; which in turn fires up our power, drive, and sense of purpose. When you practice balancing this chakra, you will begin to experience a true, inner strength and authentic power. You’ll begin to move away from the unhealthy habits such as the desire to gain power over others, yearning for external validation, playing the role of the victim, taking things personally, a poor sense of self, or inertia.
This chakra emboldens you to live from a place of “I AM”. When you tap into this infinite source of inner power, you’re creating a life for yourself that is powerful but also free.
Getting in touch with your solar plexus chakra is one of the most empowering acts of self-definition and self-worth that you can make. You’ll know when your Manipura chakra is balanced, for you’ll be able to practice setting healthy boundaries, setting intentions and achieving your goals, radiate self-confidence, validate your own self-worth by appreciating and accepting for yourself, freely exercise making choices with conviction, and allow the small things to roll off your shoulders.
I know, sometimes it’s easier said than done, right? That’s why, similar to practicing the asana portion of the yoga practice (physical poses), strengthening your inner power requires diligent practice and presence. Some days you may fall back into old habits, but that’s okay because that’s part of the human experience! In fact, look at that as just another opportunity to practice self-acceptance for who you are and for the effort that you’re putting forth in order to be your highest self.
