Do you want to help make the world a better place, but don’t have a lot of extra money to give to charities? There is something that we can do. Be positive! My friend who was 47 recently passed away. Her funeral was packed and I thought, “wow, how did she touch so many people in such a short life?” She was someone who always was positive even though she endured many hardships. She had the ability to lift people up with her words. She was a single mom and money was tight, but she helped so many people with her ability to talk to anyone. Her words were always positive and joyful. Quickly after talking with her for even a few minutes you would find yourself laughing, she could make light of any situation. When someone new came into her community she would take them around and introduce them to everyone, she had a graceful way of “breaking the ice” in new situations. She created a strong connection with people through her positivity.
Take a moment of gratitude for the people in your life that lift you up with their words; how they make your day a little brighter and bring a smile to your face. Give them a hug next time you are with them. We can lift each other up and lighten people’s burdens with the power of positive words, making our world a more loving place to be.
