We hear this all the time, but do we really do it enough? Here are some barometers that will let you know if you need to feed your soul.
If you're finding yourself in judgment, blame or guilt towards yourself or others. If you are feeling negative or quick to anger. When you're feeling excluded or doing the excluding.
Remembering that you are a spiritual being in a human body having human experiences can help us with feeding our soul. Think of a mermaid; if the mermaid stays on shore too long they will become stiff and dried up. We too are like mermaids, if we don’t feed our soul we will become stiff in our body and in our mind. You may have people in your life that literally need to go to the river or the ocean often to feed their soul.
My mom is that person, we even call her a mermaid!
There are many ways to feed your soul. It doesn’t have to cost money either!
- Sitting by a body of water and feeling the cool breeze
- Listening to the birds sing
- Petting your dog
- Receiving a hug
- Having your own dance party
- Doing a few yoga poses
- Enjoying a cup of coffee
- Spending time just “being”
- Taking a warm bath with a drop of lavender
When we feed our souls we respond to life’s stresses rather than react. Fear and negativity is washed away. Feelings of gratitude seep in to our hearts. We feel calm and centered.
