The Second Series
Join Master Teacher Bill Counter for an exploration of Ashtanga Yoga's Second Series, also known as the Intermediate Series. Don't be fearful -- it's not necessarily harder than a First Series class, just different. Some of the vinyasas are easier, and it's a terrifically interesting set of poses -- you'll have a great time even if you decide to skip a few things. The class starts just like a First Series session with the salutations and standing pose sequence and ends with the traditional finishing poses. Just different adventures in the middle -- including lively backbend and inversion sequences.
All levels are welcome. Some previous Vinyasa style practice is helpful but nor a prerequisite. If you've done a bit of Ashtanga but only Primary Series, it's time to take your practice to the next level. It's a friendly class and a practice that is accessible to newcomers who can approach it gently by working with modifications and preparatory versions of the more challenging poses. Come along for the exploration.
